Enhance Sports Physiotherapy

At Enhance Physio, we’re passionate about sport and performance. Our team has extensive experience working with athletes, from local club players to national and international professionals. Many of our physiotherapists have trained at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and have worked with organisations including the Albury Tigers Football Club, AFL, and Commonwealth Games teams.

We understand how frustrating time off from sport can be, which is why we focus on fast, safe, and sustainable recovery. Using advanced tools like the dorsaVi motion analysis system, we assess biomechanics, strength, and movement patterns during activities such as squatting, jumping, and running. This data-driven approach helps us optimise rehabilitation and improve athletic performance.

Concussion Management

Concussion is a serious condition requiring expert assessment and guided rehabilitation. Our physiotherapists have undergone advanced concussion management training to support safe recovery for athletes of all ages.

We work closely with doctors, coaches, schools, and families to implement graduated return-to-learn and return-to-play programs, addressing issues such as neck pain, vestibular dysfunction, and fatigue.

Our services include:

  • Baseline (pre-concussion) testing
  • Post-injury concussion assessments
  • Individualised treatment and recovery programs

We also partner with sporting clubs to offer team-wide pre-screening, education sessions, and post-concussion support, ensuring players return safely and confidently to their sport.

Junior Athlete Development

Developing young athletes safely is key to long-term performance and injury prevention. Our Junior Athlete Development Program combines strength training, conditioning, and movement coaching designed for youth athletes of all skill levels.

Under the supervision of our ASCA-accredited clinicians, juniors learn proper lifting techniques, strength fundamentals, and sport-specific conditioning. Our physiotherapists have worked with athletes from the AFL’s Western Bulldogs and GWS Giants to AIS and Commonwealth Games representatives, bringing elite-level expertise to local programs.

This program helps build strength, coordination, and confidence while reducing the risk of overuse or growth-related injuries.

Pre-season Screenings

Prevent injury before it happens with our Pre-Season Sports Screenings for individuals and clubs. These comprehensive assessments evaluate flexibility, strength, balance, and biomechanics to identify potential weaknesses that could lead to injury.

Following your screening, our physiotherapists design a customised treatment and training plan, which may include:

  • Strength and conditioning programs
  • Sport-specific drills and running plans
  • Home exercises for flexibility and balance

Our team includes APA Titled Sports Physiotherapists with experience across AFL, NRL, basketball, netball, and athletics. Whether you’re preparing for competition or returning to play, Enhance Physio ensures you perform at your best all season long.

Sports Physiotherapy FAQs

What is involved in a sports physiotherapy assessment?

You will be greeted by our friendly admin staff and asked to fill out a form including your past history and how your current injury is affecting your ability to participate in your favourite sport. Your physiotherapist will then perform an indepth assessment by asking you questions around your injury and performing physical testing to assist in diagnosis the cause of your problem. Once the source of your problem has been identified your physiotherapist will begin treatment to assist with easing your symptoms, provide education on how you can manage and recover from your injury and provide exercises for you to complete at home to help get better faster. At the end of your first physiotherapy session your physiotherapist will give you a written plan outlining your diagnosis, how long it should take to get better and what they and you will do throughout treatment to get you back to sport ASAP.

Do I need doctor's referral to receive sports physiotherapy treatment?

No! You can see a physiotherapist without a referral from a doctor. Often is it quicker to get into your physiotherapist and they have a deeper understanding of sports injuries and can get you back to sport faster than your GP. We can refer for imaging if required and can correspond with your GP if relevant for your injury.

When should I see a sports physiotherapist near me?

If you are experiencing aches, pains or limitations in your performance a sports physio will be able to help address your issues and get you performing better than ever before.
