Enhance You, Your Health & Our Community

Enhance Physiotherapy employs Physiotherapists who specialise in delivering therapeutic supports through the NDIS. They focus on assisting you in working towards the achievement of your NDIS plan goals.

Across Australia, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to individuals and families living with disability. The NDIS ensures each individual has choice, control and flexibility around accessing supports, providing funding through the development of an individualised plan.

This plan is developed in consultation with a NDIS representative and highlights what sorts of supports individuals can have funded as part of that plan.

1. Therapeutic Supports

Enhance Physiotherapy is a nationally registered service provider under the NDIS.

As such, we provide access to Physiotherapy services for therapy support. As a participant, family or representative, you can ask to have our therapists involved in the development of an Individual Plan to help ensure it captures all the support being provided and that it reflects your goals and aspirations.

We are currently registered to provide the following NDIS Supports

Therapeutic Supports

Therapeutic supports assist participants to apply their functional skills to improve participation and independence in daily activities in areas such as personal care, mobility and movement, interpersonal interactions and community living.

Enhance Physiotherapy has 3 offices in Albury, Wodonga & Lavington which are fully equipped with high level rehabilitation gyms and individual treatment rooms for lower level rehabilitation. Enhance Physiotherapy is also a home visiting service meaning that our therapists are able to see the participant in their own environment which may include the home, workplace, school, day program, or other individually appropriate setting.

What is an NDIS Assessment?

Prior to our initial assessment, we will speak with the participant and their support coordinator to establish what they are looking to achieve from the session. Components assessed usually include:

  • The participant’s current capabilities
  • Home modification requirements
  • Assistive equipment requirements
  • Understanding what Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy would be beneficial for that person to achieve their goals
  • If the participant has requirements for SIL or SDA, these assessments will also be performed

Some assessments will be purely functional, while others will involve reviewing the home environment too. If home modifications are required, measurements will be taken during the initial assessment.

How Long Does an NDIS Assessment Take?

This will vary depending on the needs of the individual participant.

It can take between one hour to three hours, based upon how complex the situation is and on whether a home modification assessment is also required.

2. Assistive Technology and Equipment

In addition to enabling participants to be independent or participate more fully in daily activities, assistive technology may reduce the need for assistance, make assistance safe and sustainable, and prevent or slow the development of further impairment.

Assistive technology ranges in complexity. Enhance Physiotherapy therapists are able to facilitate the application process for NDIS funding where appropriate for low level equipment where suitable..

We have excellent relationship with local suppliers who readily trial and sell standard disability/medical supplies. This allows us to work with participants and the suppliers to seek the most appropriate equipment for each individual.

3. Physiotherapy Assessments

An NDIS assessment is performed to identify an NDIS participant’s current level of function.

Physiotherapists identify any functional, physical or emotional limitations and work with the participant to improve or overcome some of these limitations.

Under the NDIS, most assessments are referred to as functional assessments or measuring someone’s function during tasks of normal living, these include:

  • Getting up from a chair
  • Transferring into and out of bed
  • Managing toileting
  • Showering
  • Ability to independently manage finances
  • Ability to manage cleaning and basic domestic housework
  • Cooking

Costs of Services

All NDIS services are charged at the rates outlined in the NDIS Price Guide.

A Service Agreement will always be created with each Individual Participant, or their nominated representative. The Service Agreement outlines the services to be provided. All supports that are being provided to/for the individual will be invoiced against their plan and can be reviewed at any time.

Enhance Physiotherapy provides services in clinic or in the home or community. Travel costs associated with home visits are also outlined within the NDIS Price Guide. We always endeavour to reduce travel costs to our clientele, as we would rather utilise allocated funds to provide therapeutic input.

**Please note that any contact with our administration team, referral intake, and contact with financial intermediaries do not attract charges**
